The simple fact of the matter is that Vicks works by using Menthol which is airborn. It is not topical.
This is an urban myth.
I beg to differ. My son has rubbed Vicks vapor rub on his chest - no results. He has had bronchitis and a terrible cough at night that prevented him from sleeping. He rubbed Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of his feet and put on a pair of white socks. His coughing was cut in half that night. He did it again the next night and be barely coughed at all. Believe what you want - this is definitely NOT a myth - it is absolutely true, my doctor even said so.
