Does sleeping burn calories? |
[Edit] |
Answer
It depends on the person, but according to calculations, a 160-pound person who sleeps eight hours will lose roughly 549 calories in the process. But yes it does burn calories when you sleep.
Answer
yes
Answer
No, it doesn't if you have eaten any food after 8 PM at night. You are not active. However, we dream every 1/2 hour (don't remember most of our dreams and the ones we do remember including nightmares are in the first few seconds of waking.) Dreams of running or any other active motion can help burn calories, but if you eat after 8 PM or even drink alcohol you are nothing but a sleeping couch potato!
