Soma ( carisoprodol HCL ) has a first pass metabolitewhich is meprobamate (a barbituric acid like substance). This can trigger a positive EMIT screening test (urine) but will likely not be confirmed on a follow up GC-MS testing unless they are looking specifically for its presence. Soma is not a scheduled federal controlled substance but can cause dependance end impairment. So to make it more clear No! somas will not show up on a drug test unless specifically tested for it. That would cost extra unless they did a 14 panel test to really break it down.

I'm not a neurochemist, but as far as I know the sites a drug binds to in the brain have nothing to do with what it metabolizes into, and as far as I know Soma shares no metabolites with benzos that would be detected by a drug test. If this were true than Mescaline (and all other phenethelamines like MDMA, 2CB etc.) would trigger positive for amphetamines, which all affect the adreniline receptors, and this is not the case. So No, Soma should not trigger a test for benzos.
However, taking drugs illegaly is not exactly a smart thing to do if you know you are going to be drug testsed at the expence of your freedom. Public info on drug tests ususally comes out after people start getting nailed, and as more and more hype and hysteria builds around new "drugs of abuse", new drugs are constantly being added to the battery of extended drug tests. While I am unaware of any drug test battery that carries Carisoprodol(Soma) or Meprobomate (another sedative and a metabolite of soma), It doesn't mean they arent availiable. It is certainly possible to test for Soma, and info on its detection period is uncertain. I wouldn't risk it.
Carisoprodol. It is usually prescribed as a muscle relaxer. It is not a controlled drug and is not usually tested for. There is a difference between a drug test and drug screen. If it does show up in the screening only then will it be tested. In the test they will look more at the metabolites of the drug, not the drug itself. This will show if it has been ingested by the person.
Somas must be tested specifically for in a urine drug screen. They will not show up as anything other than what it specifically is after it has been specifically tested for. On your regular 8 panel or whatever, it's not part of that and will NOT show up. I've passed drug screens before while having somas in my system from earlier that day or just the day before.
No! The use of Soma does not show up in a drug test because it is an acting central skeletal muscular agent, synthesized throughout the central nervous system, therefore not excreted by the liver and kidney. It is not classified as a benzodiazapine!
Soma is carisoprodol, but they don't even prescribe that anymore. Drug tests don't even test for it
soma will show as carisporidol but i believe they have to take a soma specific test to identify it
Soma is not a benzo or a barbiturate. It will not show up on a routine drug screen. The only way is if urine is sent to the lab and tested specifically for soma.
It shows a false positive as Benzodiazepines!!
yes
No
yes it does. it shows up as a barbiturate.
about two months...
Yes, if the drug test able to detect benzodiazepines. Soma is metabolized by the liver into the benzodiazepine, meprobomate. FYI, 700mg is an unsafe dose of Soma. It can cause liver damage. Fun Fact: In 60% of prescription drug overdose deaths, Soma is present.
Klonopin is a benzo, so yes it shows up on a standard 10 stick drug test. Don't know about the Soma though.
NO i dont thik so Carispidal is the scientific drug name for soma and they come in i think 325mg
No, Methadone and Somas are in different categories.methadone shows up as methadone soma is like a barbituate or something
standard urine screens do not test for soma, as it is not a narcotic. (but it does get you high, stay awake lol)
no....its a muscle relaxer, it only stays in system for a few hrs
