Absolutely not - the U.S. Navy currently has the largest afloat Navy in the world, and with the collapse of the Soviet Union, no other nation is even close in size or strength.
Army ships are generally logistics, landing, or electronics telemetry receiving ships and tugs. They are few in number compared to the Navy, since the Navy's mission is to keep global sea lanes open.
A link below shows the current list of Army ships, excluding the US Army Corps of Engineers.
The US Navy had better ships, but the British Navy had many more of them. The British had a larger and better army.
The US Navy reached it's maximum number of ships in 1945 at the end of World War 2
No, such a site doesn't exist. However, the Dictionary of American Fighting Ships does list all of the ships that have been on the US Navy's roles. Some will have partial lists of the Commanding Officers. And if you have a specific need, you can contact the National Archives or Navy Department. They often have more detailed histories of ships that would include such information.
It is the war center of America and has supplied troops, a navy and air forces for the US Army and has helped by supplying and comanding troops air forces and navy ships during World War II and many wars.

Privateers and more powerful ships.
They operate worldwide and have multiple bases like the Army. Most personael are on ships and subs
Typically the army does not name ships. The navy names ships, with only two exceptions (Condererate submarine in US Civil War, Japanese carriers in WWII) of named vessels operating under army command rather than navy. As to how the navy names ships, they are usually built to a class and named with some commonality (Cities, famous battles, famous people, animals, adjectives, et cetera.)
The Air Force has Aircraft not Ships. The Navy has Ships.
The US Army is not part of the US Navy . EDIT: The Marine Corps is technically part of the Navy
245 active ships
Hi there, Currently the US Army is ranked #1 strongest army in the world. It is due to its large amount of manpower. It's Navy is also one of the strongest and largest Navy's in the world, the US army also has elite special forces such as the Navy Seals. However Navy Seals are not as strong as the Britsh SAS. The USA has alot of manpower due to its large country. USA is also a strong army because it is constantly developing technology and training more soldiers to make the army bigger, more elite and more prepared. Hope this helped!
US Army was led by Douglas MacArthur / US Navy was led by Chester Nimitz .
To protect the ships and bases of the US Navy.
Probably the US Army. The US Air Force didn't exist; the US Marines are (or were) naval infantrymen and didn't even have medics (the US Navy supplied the marines with "Corpsmen"); the US Navy was busy manning ships.
John F. Kennedy served in the US Navy, not Army.
