No....Cam Sensors (or more correctly, Camshaft Position sensors) are completely unrelated to the Oxygen Sensors (also known as O2 or Lambda Sensors).

Camshaft Positions Sensors are mounted near the engine's Camshaft, and determine the relative position of the camshaft at any particular point in time. The engine control software uses this signal for a variety of engine control tasks.

The Oxygen Sensors are mounted in the exhaust manifold, exhaust system or in both (depending on the make, model, and year of the car. They are used by the engine control software to determine if the A/F mixture is rich or lean, which is then adjusted accordingly. They are also used by the engine control software to diagnose the catalytic converter (as required by EPA and CARB regulations).

These, of course, are two separate systems.

One sensor cannot cause the other to malfunction.

Of course, if your Camshaft were somehow damaged (not your Camshaft Sensor, but your Camshaft itself) then a misfire could occur, that might damage the O2 Sensor (as well as other components, such as the catalytic converter).

But the car would run so poorly, that you'd be aware of this already.

Where is a oil cam cencor on a 2002 Chevy trail blazer?

There is no "oil cam sensor". There is a oil pressure sensor and a cam sensor, but they are two different sensors.

What is the function of hall sensor?

A hall effect sensor is a sensor that produces a square wave output that can be directly read and modulated by the ECM (as opposed to an AC wave sensor which produces a sine wave that must be converted). They are used as cam position sensors and ABS wheel speed sensors

Where is the input sensor located on 2007 Chevy blazer?

There many sensors in that vehicle, crank sensor, cam sensor, engine temp sensor, oil pressure sensor, oxygen sensors, fuel level sensor, fuel tank evap pressure sensor, mass air flow sensor, manifold absolute pressure senser and the list goes on. Need to know which sensor you are looking for.

What does a cam sensor do on a ford f 250 7.3?

Cam sensors detect the position of the camshaft and relay it to the comptuer.

Where is the bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor located on a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.4L 6 cylinder?

The 1996 GTP has two oxygen sensors one upper, one lower, the upper is on the down pipe (just below the crossover from the exhaust manifolds (not easy to reach) Try from below.-be careful. the other oxygen sensor is about half way down the exhaust pipe, close to the catalytic converter. The bank one sensor is probably the cam timing sensor, it is on the front bank cam carrier close to the thermostat housing.(on the cam carrier.) You will need a special socket to remove the oxygen sensors- don't damage the pig tail during installation and don't touch the tip-you may screw up the readings. Good luck.

How do you change a cam shaft sensor shaft?

Most cam sensors are attached with a single bolt. just a matter of locating the sensor, removing the wire to it then unbolting it. Refitting is the reverse of the above.

Will a speed sensor in a 1998 dodge neon stop the car from starting?

Crank and cam sensors, yes. Vehicle speed sensor, no.

Where is an Oldsmobile intrigue 1999 ignition sensor?

Never heard of an "ignition sensor". Do you mean oxygen sensor, or maybe crank position sensor, or cam position sensor? There is an ignition "module" also... The oxygen sensor is on the exhaust manifold. The crank posiiton sensor is on the backside of the block. The cam position is on each head.

How do you check a crank sensor and cam sensor on 2001 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L and where can you get resistance values for these sensors?

The sensors can be checked with an oscilliscope, graphing multimeter or for frequency(not anywhere near as good). Resistance values are meaningless with the type of sensor used.

Where is cam position sensor on 99Honda Accord with a four cylinder?

This model Honda (99Accord EX w/4 cyl.) does not have a CMP (cam pos. sensor). It has a cyl. pos. sensor. (CYP) Both sensors tell the computer when #1 cyl. is @ top dead center on the comp. stroke. These sensors are specific to manufacturer and model. This sensor is located in the distributor.
