Yes!!!!!!

According to Apple's website the iPhone is designed to work best with the Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headsets (go figure), but most other Bluetooth headsets will work with iPhone. So to answer your question ...Most likely yes.

NOT Really 100% Compatible

New iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS use Broadcom's Bluetooth chip, which built together with wi-fi chip , and is a totally new to the market place. Most bluetooth headsets use CSR chips, not really 100% compatible with broadcom Chip. Most of the Bluetooth headsets out there are not fully compatible with New iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. There are two way to fix them. 1. Uploard special software to your bluetooth headset, (But the Tool need $150.00 US, not worth it) 2. Buy a New bluetooth headset but need Check on the package (iPhone 3Gs Compatible).

iPhone losing credibility

I bought a Motorola S805 headset and found the forward/back control feature is not compatible with the iPhone. I then replaced this with an Motorola S9 and had the same problem! I called Apple and was told it is a known issue and should take it up with Motorola. I then read a blog indicating that this is in fact an Apple issue and may vary depending on the firmware version you have. I am running 3.1.2. and this is the only issue I have encountered. The bluetooth standard has been out for a long time so there is no reason why Apple should have this problem with the iPhone. It is almost as if Apple is doing this on purpose to force people to buy Apple Bluetooth accessories! If there is a way to tarnish a good product Apple, this would be the way to do it.

if it really doesn't work ,you can buy one online.www.shoppingkool.com is a good one.

As of June 17, 2009 iPhone does support a2dp; the streaming of stereo audio over bluetooth. The support for the stereo bluetooth headset profile is part of the iPhone OS 3.0 released on that day.

I have tried using my bluetooth with the iPhone and it has not worked. This, however, does not mean it's not possible - I had two other phones that I tried syncing up to hear music via bluetooth...one worked (PDA Audiovox 6700) the other did not (LG 8100). Btw, this was a simple bluetooth headset for phone use, NOT one of those bluetooth headphone deals.

Well the wireless headsets use bluetooth to send the information back and forth. You need Bluetooth to use a wireless headset but you don't specifically need to buy a Bluetooth brand.
