It's all dependent on how well you handle pain. All piercings hurt, you're shoving a steel rod through a part of your body. If you're good with pain it won't hurt at all. If you're bad with pain it will feel like fire. The pain is not a sting or a pain that will make you flinch or jump, it is a progressive aching feeling so you can overcome it, from my experience i would compare it to the feeling of dropping something on your toe or getting flicked on the ear really hard in cold weather, But if you want an Industrial Piercing, the pain is certainly a lot less than you will expect it to be. Anticipation (Waiting before it gets done) Hurts the most.

Cartilage piercing can be easy if it's done by a trained professional body piercer. Only a trained experienced professional body piercer can do an industrial piercing, so don't expect it to be done at a piercing gun studio. They don't know what they are doing. There is discomfort with every piercing no matter where it is and what it is but it's the piercer and the client's mind set that determine if it's a good experience or a bad one. Mind over matter, if you don't mind the pain doesn't matter.

It really depends on your pain threshold. For me it was worse than my tongue and navel combined it was painful. But probably not the painfullest piercing in the world. Its quick pain so it doesnt hurt for long. But you must make sure you take extra care! And clean clean clean!
Let's clear this up, all piercings hurt, the difference between one hurting really bad and one not hurting so badly comes down to three things. Piercer skill and experience and the aftercare you are doing to look after the piercing. It is one of themore painful piercings to get, yes. However wht is not often taken into consideration is that any time your ear is knocked, slept upon, or even touched for several weeks you will also be in a rather decent amount of pain.

a industrial piercing does not hurt `that bad..depending on your cartliages size . once the first hole is in its a pause...then after that the next and its over....but mins after your ear will burn and it is real sentasive and you cant even sleep on it

More than likely, yes. The gauge of the needle & jewelry is larger & it's essentially two separate piercings.
