No the speen sensor has to do with telling how fast you go and some other stuff!!! Its really all in the transmission
The odometer gets its signal from the speed sensor, so if the (tailshaft) speed sensor is bad then the odometer obviously will not work
Bad speed sensor is a likely culprit
The speedometer/ odometer signals come from the ABS sensors. There is a sensor at each wheel bearing.
If the speedometer/odometer is working, chances are the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is good.
Odometer is usually controlled by the speed sensor not a fuse . In most vehicles it is sticking out the side of the transmission
A vehicle speed sensor is the culprit
There is no such thing as an "odometer sensor." There is a vehicle speed sensor that is located on the output shaft housing of the transmission. That sends info to the speedometer. From there, the speedometer and the odometer are both operated internally, so if your speedo is working, but the odometer isn't, you have a problem inside the speedo head assembly.

There is no such thing. The odometer is electrically driven from the PCM via the vehicle speed sensor. If the odometer has failed you need to replace the cluster.
Does your odometer work? If the speed sensor goes faulty both speedometer and odometer stop working.
If only the odometer is not functional, then the cluster is bad. If both odo and speedo are inop then you have a possible speed sensor issue.
