Does water makes you lose weight?

Not by water itself. You can live for about 3 weeks on nothing but water. If you only consumed only water, after a few days you would start loosing weight because you would be loosing fat, muscle mass, bone mass. In order to keep you alive as long as possible, your body would start to consume and eat itself for nutrients. It's also excruciatingly painful.

I would instead strongly suggest exercise and a balanced diet.
