The normal heart rate for adults is between 60-100 beats per minute. However, medications and certain conditions can raise and lower your normal pulse rate. Additionally, people who are very physically fit sometimes have a much lower resting heart rate. See your doctor to determine what a proper heart rate is for yourself personally.

I just finished going up the stairs to my office after 2 sets going up and down. My bpm is 124. I have not worked out for more than six months... I think it is pretty normal.. I feel really good, is like my heart was asking for this rush... If I keep working out same routine on a daily basis bpm should be lower than my first recorded bpm.. But Again I feel 120bpm might be pretty normal.. all depending on when was you last recenty excersice activity and the intensity of your last activity when you measured your bpm.

Everyone's heart rate varies depending on many factors such as age and physical fitness. When we run our heart rate will increase in order to pump blood, oxygen and nutrients around the body faster in response to an increase in the body's demand for energy. The amount our heart rate increases by will depend on how much exercise is done and normal fitness levels.

It is therefore impossible to say that a person's heart rate will increase to 120 when they run as the value will be different for every individual. However, the average heart rate at rest is 60 - 90 beats per minute, 120 is therefore a reasonable rate to expect the heart rate in an average adult to be when they are running.

No, typically a person with a heart rate at 100 is a child or very small person. Any higher than 100 is called tachycardia and can cause a heart attack long term. Exercise can bring a person's resting heart rate down.

It depends how fit you are. The more fit you are, the slower your resting beats per minute will be. For example, Lance Armstrong has a resting rate of 30 bpm, which means he is incredibly fit.
