Drake and Josh? |
[Edit]
- You sound like a movie buff, so you must have heard how actors can gain or lose weight for different movies or simply to keep in good shape. If the actor is a money-maker for the studios they are often given diets, and special trainers to help them work-out to lose the weight. Some actors (especially women) unfortunately will often try to do it on their own and can become Bulimic or Anorexic and have health problems further down the road. Few males will go this route. Here are some facts on Josh Peck and I thought you might be interested in: Josh Peck has battled asthma for many years, but said in an interview it is more psychological at this point in his life. He lost over 100 lbs. and that helped him with the asthma. He knew that he had to lose this weight to stay healthy so he was put on a diet and got a personal trainer. This young man also is extremely intelligent and mature for his 19 years and he was quoted as saying "Because I do so much children's television, I am a better role model. I don't understand why I should be a role model, but children do look up to me, so it is my responsibility to motivate people and be inspiring. It doesn't matter what you look like really though, it is who you are that matters of course." Here is a little more info about Josh Peck: He grew up as a really sick kid and had bad asthma. The first 14 years of his life he was brought up in Hell's Kitchen and the family was extremely poor. His mother was a single parent and she brought Josh up well and they are very close to this day. Josh would stay home all day because of his asthma and watched comedy shows such as old reruns of "The Honeymooners" with Jackie Gleason and "I Love Lucy" with Lucille Ball and Dezi Arnez. Often Josh would emulate the comedians and his mother began to see potential in him. At this point in time Josh thought he was incapable of doing anything with his asthma and often lovingly would refer to his mother as "a neurotic Jewish mother." At 8 most of the theater clubs wouldn't allow him in to show off his talent because he was considered too young, but a few did and Josh loved it. He eventually got the role in the movie "Snow Day." After he landed that he was quoted as saying, "What I have discovered recently is how amazing and supportive my mother was. She gave me so many pearls of wisdom when I was 15 or 16. At the time I refused to listen to her, but she was so wise and I realize that now." Josh's influences were Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby. His role models are Sir Ben Kingsley and Morgan Freeman. In terms of comedy he loved Jackie Gleason and Jerry Lewis. He loved the comedies from the 50s. He does hang out with girls and he does relax, but he admitted to being a hermit sometimes and would get too introverted. He is happiest when he's working and creative. If you should want to lose weight and you are looking for a good diet (I call it corrective eating habits) to lose weight (guys lose weight faster than girls) "Weight Watcher's" is a healthy and excellent program to go on. I believe you can actually go online and join up and get your menus from them, but going to the 40 minute meetings once a week gives you more moral support from others who have joined and you are counseled during any problems you may have. Work with your mother on this as I'm sure she does all the cooking or, if you live alone then go to those Weight Watcher's meetings and they will tell you how to shop to healthy foods. Also exercise is important at least 8 glasses of water a day (flushes out your system of toxins and also fat.) By the way it took Josh a year and a half as he quoted this in a recent interview.
