Well, I'd disagree because the question is how many fingernails not toenails so I believe it would be 11.

This is really debatable. Are the thumb considered fingers. If so then 14 is the answer. If not then 11 is the answer.

Actually it's not debatable. The answer has to be 11 because (for example) I have 10 fingers and two thumbs - but no matter how many thumbs I might have they would already be included in the finger count since thumbs are fingers.
