can you use a cellphone for a person in jail to call you?
I want an inmate to receive prepaid phone cards to use to call my cell phone. How do I make this happen?
to answer your question you would have to money on his books so he could buy the prepaid phone cards, but if you want you could call Evercom and set up an account with them so the imate could call your cell phone. just give them the number and there won't be a problem you don't have to let them know it is a cell phone just let them know you want to set up a prepaid account with them sometime they would ask if it a cell phone and some carriers won't allow you to receive collect calls from and inmate. If that happens you could go get a Virgin Mobile cell phone which is cheap in stores which cost around $29..99 on up and right now they have unlimited minutes at $49.99 and I know with these phones you could go anywhere in the US without roaming..and you could receive phonecalls from the inmate with no problem and it isn't a contract with this company so when your friend get out you just have the services automatically terminated with no problem. But, the only thing is when set up services with Evercom, just to let you know that you will be charged more with a cell phone, than a house phone and if you get disconnected because of roaming you would still be charged time for connection. And if you set up a account over the phone with Evercom and want to pay by credit it has the minimum you have to have on your card is $50.00 or more. Now I had a friend in prison that called me like crazy and I was out of minutes within 2 to 3 days with my cell phone but when I changed it over to my house phone it was like every 2wks for me to put money on my account. so the home phone is cheaper where I live it is $4.35 for 15 min. and for cell it was $5.99 plus the connection fee which is .25. so right now I am reviewing this website that my friend told me about that gives you unlimited talk time for $49.99 a month but you also have to set up an account with Evercom once you get the number from this company which should make your bill alot less with evercom. the web is http://www.jailcallscheap.com/#top. good luck. hope this (long book)LOL. help you in some kind of way?
