Pop Music is a term that originally comes from an abbreviation of popular, is a genre of popular music which started in the 1950s deriving from rock and roll. The terms popular music and pop music are often used in different ways. Pop music is electric it has elements from other styles e.g. urban , dance, Latin etc. There are core elements which define pop some examples of this are short to medium length songs and repeated choruses, melodic tunes etc. Pop music has electric Guitars, drums and bass. The thing that most people look for in a song is if it is catchy and enjoyabale to listen to. Pop music is known to have a lot of fans and is one of the most (if not top) popular type of music. David hatch and Stephan Milward defien pop music as a body of music which is like jazz and folk musics. Pop music is seen as top of the charts of music. Pop music is a genre which has been enjoyed listened to for a lot of years.
