Explain the divine rights of kings?

A religious and political doctrine that says how the king is only answerable to God and no one else. So, basically no one could say anything about it when the King was a total loser.

The king was considered to be appointed by God, or chosen by God. As such, he had a "divine right" to rule. If the king was appointed by God, then his will was also God's will.

Divine right was the belief that kings were in power because the family had been chosen by God to rule, and because of that were more fit and able to rule then everyone else.
