How much would it cost to buy a tanning bed for my home?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Purchasing a tanning bed online can be a lot less expensive than one would think! You can purchase a previously used one from Craigslist for a few hundred, a nice one from eBay for under $1000, or search one of the many online tanning bed speciality stores to purchase one or even finance one for a price comparable to what you pay going to a salon! Add to that the convenience and comfort of the privacy of your own home with no appointments necessary and you can't go wrong!!

The price depends in part on the number of bulbs. Listings for 16 bulb tanning beds are around $1400 and 24 bulb beds cost about $1600. Sunco Tanning advertises prices starting at $1199, while Amazon offers the Sunquest Wolff at $1499.

tanning beds can be purchased starting at $1399 for home tanning beds. We have great deals right now @ the US's largest tanning bed supplier. Visit @ www.mastertanning.com or call 800-552-4446

Can you plug a tanning bed in a 220 outlet?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

A dryer outlet is only safe to use for one purpose: to power a dryer.

Obviously you can attempt to use it for something else, such as a tanning bed, but it is NOT SAFE to do it!

You could drive on the wrong side of the road but it is NOT SAFE to do it!

You could put your hand into a fire but it is NOT SAFE to do it!

In general the reasons for saying it is not safe to use something other than a dryer on a dryer outlet are all about being sure that the circuit you will use for the other appliance (in this case a tanning bed) has: * the right size of wires to carry the current the appliance takes and

* the right size of breakers on the main supply panel to protect the appliance - and the wiring to it - from catching fire if there is ever a malfunction. Tanning beds are quite different to dryers: people using them must be "in attendance" to them all the time they are in use! You have to be sure you wire them up correctly and safely to avoid there being any kind of risk of anyone getting electrocuted.

You also have to be sure that the supply circuit used is of the right kind to protect the house from a house fire. That can happen if there is a malfunction in the tanning bed but the circuit breakers on the main supply panel - or the wiring feeding it - are the wrong size. The circuit breakers on the main supply panel - and the wiring feeding the outlet for the tanning bed - must all be properly sized and correctly and safely installed. == == As you asked this question here, the best thing you can do to be able to use your tanning bed with no worries is to ask a licensed electrician for his advice. He can also quote you for installation of the correct type of outlet, wiring and breakers on the main supply panel to power your new tanning bed safely. <><><> For more information please see the Related Questions shown below. IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOB

SAFELY AND COMPETENTLY

REFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS. If you do this work yourself, always turn off the power

at the breaker box/fuse panel BEFORE you attempt to do any work AND

always use an electricians test meter having metal-tipped probes

(not a simple proximity voltage indicator)

to insure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized. == ==

How do you wire a single phase 240V tanning bed?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You can not, a new circuit will have to be run from the electrical panel. Tanning beds which require four wire circuits, need a grounded conductor (neutral) that is not available with a three wire circuit.

Can you wire a tanning bed to a 110?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, as a general rule. Even if it were possible, doing so would invalidate the certification from a recognized testing service such as Underwriters' Laboratories (UL), CSA, TVE, etc. Your writer worked for UL one summer during college and came to understand firsthand why certification by a testing service is essential. Whenever I buy a plug-in electrical appliance, my personal rule is that it must have the UL mark or label on it.

What to do while laying down in bed?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Perhaps a freak accident has confined you to your bed, severely limiting your mobility. Or perhaps you admit your laziness--and want to find a way to get in a workout without even leaving your bed.

Sound familiar? It's true that most of us prefer to take it easy than to get in a good workout--but luckily you don't even need to get up to get your heart pumping. To stay fit, try out these exercises they next time you're in bed.

How to Exercise While Lying in Bed 1. Bicycle. Lying on your back with your arms flat against the ground, try this exercise. First, raise your legs in the air until the knees are bent at a 90 degree angle--this is the starting position. Next, rotate both legs in the air like you're on a bicycle. Continue doing this for 40 repetitions--or until you can't handle it anymore! 2. Crunches. Lying on your back, first make sure both of your legs are bent with your feet flat against the surface. This is the starting position. Next, place both hands gently behind your neck for support while slowly lifting your torso up, making sure not to pull on your neck. After rising a few inches, hold this position for a few inches before releasing. You should feel your abs tightening--a sign you're doing it right. Return back to the starting position and continue doing this for 30 to 40 repetitions. For an additional challenge, try doing this with something heavy on your stomach for extra tension, such as a heavy backpack or a set of books. 3. Bench Press. Lying flat on any surface, grab a heavy object next to you that can be held in both hands--such as a heavy bag or backpack. Holding it with both hands, extend your arms out above you and hold the object there for a few seconds before bending your elbows, allowing it to touch your chest. This is one repetition. Continue for 10 to 12 repetitions. Remember, there's no excuse for skipping a workout--even if you're in bed! Use these exercises the next time that you find yourself more motivated to have a snooze fest than to head to the gym. Remember to get the go ahead from your doctor before attempting any new exercise program.

Can you use outdoor tanning lotion in a tanning bed?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It is not recommended that you use an outdoor tanning lotion in a tanning bed. Several reasons apply. First of all, a lot of outdoor tanning lotions contain oils which can damage acrylics. Second, indoor tanning lotions are specifically designed to put the vitamins and minerals depleted during sun exposure back into your skin, an effort to prevent pre-mature aging and other less than beautiful side effects of tanning. Finally, in order to get optimal results from tanning in a controlled environment than you need to use something designed to quickly activate melanin production - intensifying your ability to tan in a rapid session. Some tanning lotions, most of the Designer Skin line, are designed for use indoors and outdoors. This would be the way to go if you are looking for a lotion that you can use successfully in both settings.
