Is nick fury evil?

User Avatar

Asked by Crazycomic12

Colonel Nicholas Joseph "Nick" Fury is a fictional World War II army hero and present-day super-spy appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer/artist Jack Kirby and writer Stan Lee, Fury first appeared in Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos #1 (May 1963), a World War II combat series that portrayed the cigar-chomping Fury as leader of an elite U.S. Army unit. A popular character over a number of decades, in 2011, Fury was ranked 33rd in IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Heroes.

The modern-day Fury, initially a CIA agent, debuted a few months later in Fantastic Four #21 (Dec. 1963). In Strange Tales #135 (Aug. 1965), the character transformed into a James Bond-like spy and leading agent of the fictional espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D. The character makes frequent appearances in Marvel books as the former head of S.H.I.E.L.D. and as an intermediary between the U.S. government or the United Nations and various superheroes. It is eventually revealed that Fury takes a special medication called the Infinity Formula that halted his aging and allows him to be active despite being nearly a century old.

Nick Fury appears in several Marvel series set in alternate universes, as well as multiple animated films, television shows, and video games based on the comics. The character was first portrayed in live action by David Hasselhoff in the 1998 television movie Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Samuel L. Jackson later signed a nine-picture deal to portray the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, first appearing in the 2008 film Iron Man. Jackson also cameos in an episode of the related Marvel television show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. A version of the character appearing in Marvel's Ultimate Marvel imprint was based on Jackson's appearance and screen persona, well before he was cast in the role. The recognizability of the character portrayed by Jackson in the films later led Marvel to retire the original character, replacing him with his African American son Nick Fury, Jr., who like the Ultimate Marvel version is patterned on Jackson.

What is the value of an 1823 British George IV gold coin?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Your coin is either Shilling or a Sixpence. They are almost identical, the Shilling being larger at 23.5 than the Sixpence at 19.5 mm. A British 1829 Sixpence, uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £325 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from £10 to £95 GBP. A British 1829 Shilling, uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £550 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from £30 to £225 GBP. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.

What are some good powers for superheroes?

User Avatar

Asked by Frosto120

There's plenty of good powers out there, but which ones would suit your superheroes depends greatly on the narrative. Powers should either mirror or in certain cases contrast the character of the hero.

Straightforward hero types should have straightforward hero powers:

Flight, super strength, invulnerability, energy beams etc.

Heroes with more usual methods should have more unusual powers:

shape shifting, telepathy, intangibility, summoning ghosts, etc.

You should consider what you want your hero to be doing. Heroes with telepathic powers can make great leaders and do all sorts of interesting things, but they'd be of little immediate use in stopping runaway trains or saving people who fall from high places where the more traditional ones work better.

Here are some good requirements:

- Not too powerful

- With a variety of applications

- Fitting to a central theme

- Original

Possibly one of the greatest power sets ever is Spider-man's. None of his powers individually make him exceptionally powerful, but they still allow him to do all the heroic things. He is agile more than he is strong and resilient, which means he's a capable fighter, but he can still be knocked out for dramatic purposes.

This finds a very good balance in powers that make your hero capable, but not too overpowered as to lose the sense of drama.

How much would a sheet of uncut Marvel Comics cards be worth?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Hey bud,

Well I myself am a collector of these items, and purchasing these currently within the year of 2012, so I will give you rough prices for this year onwards.

The first thing we need to find out though, is what year and what set the un-cut cards are from ? Find out if it is from a Marvel universe, or a Marvel Masterpieces set.

Once you find the year, and the set it is from; You would need to establish whether it is a promotional page, something like 4-9 cards un-cut, or whether it is an entire un-cut press sheet. A press sheet could hold something up to around 100+ cards sometimes and are alot rarer usually.

Promotional pages are usually very cheap, and we're seen at places like comic-con, or perhaps as a dealer incentive or advertisement upon the sets release. Un-cut press sheets are really cool, as they are usually very rare.

Promo sheets for marvel cards around 1992-1994 will range anywhere between 99cents - $30 ? roughly. UN-cut press sheets for 1992, 1993, 1994 range anywhere between $50 - $175.

Promo cards for the year 2000+ are quite cheap, no higher than $15 usually. Un-cut sheets $50-$150.

If it is the 1995 marvel masterpieces un-cut press sheet, or 1996 marvel masterpieces un-cut press sheet. They will be worth a very high amount. I found a 1995 recently, and it was the only one I've seen on E-bay the last year. I would pay up to $500+ for that item.

It's very hard to pinpoint exact item worth. You will need to find out the exact set, and then one can determine its rarity and price. I hope the ranges I gave you have helped a little bit =S

If it is anything a bit more vintage perset from before 1990, I am really unsure of prices for those, but they would be pretty high and rare.

Kind Regards, Andrew.

Are the Watchmen superheroes?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes, in the sense that they are a group of super-powered beings (and non-super individuals) that have banded together for the purpose of fighting crime. The characters, however, are not as easily classified as those superheroes possessing a greater sense of optimism, strong ideals, and obvious motives for their actions; unambiguous characters such as Superman, Captain America, or Spider-Man. The Watchmen could be better categorized as "antiheroes."

Who would win Hulk vs beast?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

the hulk because he would let the beast beat him up and let him get worn out and then beat him like an egg plant.

-Hulk would defeat beast very easily. Arguably Beast's greatest battle advantage is his strength, however this would be greatly nullified in battle with the Hulk. Hulk's base strength is 100 tons while the most that beast can lift is 10 tons.
