What is the difference between a filling and a root canal?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Filling is done when you have a small cavity which is away from the pulp which is the soft part inside the tooth. Once the cavity exceed and reaches to the pulp, it start to cause pain needing RCT. So its wise to protect the tooth while the cavity is small by getting it filled otherwise you'll need a root canal rpocedure done which is a little painful procedure.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The correct way to repair cracks in dentures is to get them repaired by a professional denture repair business.

When browsing through the search engines, you may want to search for the word denture repair. Another tip when hunting for a denture repair service is to understand there is a difference in quality of materials that might be used for your denture. The national average to fix a broken denture is around $175. You may find several businesses that will offer denture repair services, but always be cautious on those who offer a low priced denture repairs as they may not be using quality materials to repair your dentures.

If quality materials are not used, you might be better off to repair dentures yourself as if poor quality materials are used to repair your dentures will eventually end up with a broken denture again.

Lastly, the best kind of place you can find is if there are dentists involved with the repair of your dentures as they can find the right solution for all kinds of denture repairs quickly and that is also cost effective.

You're in Nick Nack's mission? If you are, when you arrive in the deep sea there are dentures sharks. When you pass from all of them, they will disappear and in this other part of the sea you're you can find three holes. One in the middle, one in the right and one in the left. To take the dentures you go to the middle hole. When you go down you'll see a shark putting his dentures on the floor, next he'll see you and then he'll. When it happens you only take the denture and clean. That's all!

Can you sleep with dentures?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It is much healthier for your gums to sleep without dentures. It will irritate the gums in your sleep which will result in sores on the gums. The gums need time to rest and to allow normal stimulation to maintain healthy gums. Also the dentures will collect plenty of germs in your mouth during the day, so it is good and recommended to soak them in warm water or a denture cleaner at night. Make sure to keep a routine cleaning of your dentures to insure healthy gums.

How do you make denture adjustments?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

To correctly replace a missing tooth in a denture or reattach an existing tooth that has popped out you first remove a small amount of the pink denture base that forms the socket, usually by grinding with a carbide bur. Next you size the replacement denture tooth to the correct contours or freshen the existing tooth while leaving a small amount of space between the tooth and the ground out socket. Then you mix new acrylic and place it in the space behind the tooth you have secured in place by sticky wax or will place by hand in the uncured acrylic. Most acrylics need to cure submerged in 120-130 degree hot water inside a pressure curing unit at 2-3 bars of pressure for 30 minutes. Then you grind to smoothness, reform the gingiva simulation and remove any acrylic that has flashed or is out of contour before you polish with pumice before high shining. Next, you disinfect the finished restoration.

Using any material to resecure the tooth without providing space for that material will have the tooth out of place or contour since the material resecuring or gluing the tooth to the existing denture base will take up space and not let the tooth seat fully where it was. Acrylics and epoxies are fairly permanent, but most glues let go after a while in saliva. If you use any substance yourself you almost always make it impossible to go back and do it correctly without much more labor and expenses.

Hope this helps. My advise is to go to a professional before you make it worse.

Can your dentist withhold your permanent crown due to nonpayment?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, they cannot withhold your crown if they have already prepared the tooth. They are obligated to see the procedure through to completion once it has been started, regardless of payment status. However, this does not mean you do not have to pay or can get away without paying. If you do not pay, they will go through a collections process, or possibly even sue you for non-payment of services rendered. It is generally easier just to arrange payment terms than to deal with collections, legal concerns, credit concerns, and possibly wrecking whatever relationship you have with your dentist.

Can you get a refund if you are not satisfied with the dentures that your dentist made?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I'm in the process of trying to get a refund from a dentist that not only botched the work he was doing but, also extracted teeth that were healthy and stable!

I have involved the Tennessee Dental Association, the Tennessee Health Department and even the governor in my quest to bring justice! I have spent over $10,000.00 to be permanently disfigured and for the last six months, I have NO visible teeth! The dentist, Dr. William S. Howard of Tellico Plains, TN,

used me as a 'cash cow' and should have never began a procedure that he was incapable of performing. I originally went to him after moving to Tennessee and already in the process of front implants, with the bone graphs already completed. After 2 1/2 years of pain and agony, and excessive money spent, he demanded even more than already spent to complete the life altering damage he had already done. I will continue my fight, including a court battle if necessary to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
