Sohrab is Hasan's son in The Kite Runner. He brings Amir and Hassan together even after their relationship was destroyed. Amir sees Sohrab as his own atonement, and way of finding "a way to be good again," which was said multiple times by Rahim Khan throughout the novel.
After he changes the ending of a story he is telling Hassan, and Hassan says it the best one yet. Amir gets inspired and writes his first story about a poor man who became overcome with greed and ended up killing his wife. He shows the story to Baba, who does not really acknowledge it; and then to Rahim Khan, who writes Amir a note telling him what a great author he could become. Hassan later hears the story, and loves it. However, he introduces to Amir his first PLOT HOLE.
Henry kissinger was brought up in that because he his a good actor.
Hassan's first word is Amir. Amir does not reveal his name till this point, which shows his underlying guilt because Hassan loves him so much and Amir's betrayal.
she didnt even treat hassan like anything. She gave birth to him then dipped
In chapter 9 on page 105, after Amir plants his watch and money under Hassan's bed, he states: "I loved him in that moment, love him more than I'd loved anyone and I wanted to tell them that I was the snake in the grass." This alludes to the snake in the grass in the Garden of Eden, who decieved Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. In the book, Amir decieves his father into believing that hassan took the watch. This is a biblical allusion. Hope I've helped :)
It was a way of showing power and a way to make amir feel uncomfortable, Assef was a Sociopath so there is no real thought process that he has that will make sense logically
The tail causes drag and keeps the kite stable. By pulling down, on the part of the kite it is attached to, it keeps it orientated upright and more stable.
The longer the tail, the more drag. A short tail, may not be enough in a strong wind to stabilise the kite. A tail that is too long, may cause difficulties in getting it off the ground in a light wind.
Yes, it has. Here is a link with its image. http://www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/3623122/
Amir resents Hassan because at certain occasions Baba, his father shows more love to Hassan .Amir doesn't really hate Hassan, it's just that he is jealous of him and cannot tolerate to see his father loving Hassan more who is the son of their servant actually instead of his own son.
Fremont, California (1980) - Baba and Amir move to America
Bullying Amir and Hassan. He hated Hazaras like Ali and Hassan and like Hitler's extermination, believed in killing them all. In the end of the book, Assef is the man at the stadium in white with the sunglasses. He "owns" Hassan's son, Sohrab and sexual abuses him. Assef fights with Amir and Sohrab shoots his eye out with a sling shot. Amir and Sohrab escape.
Baba's name is never given, and neither is Baba's father's (Amir's grandfather).
They are only ever referred to as 'Baba', and Amir's grandfather or Baba's father.
some of the symbols that represent baba in the kite runner might be stuff like him fighting a black bear, the dirt he brings back from pakistan, a pack of cigarettes from him working long hard hours at the gas station, and baba fighting the bear probably represent him the most.
In English the word translates to what you might call a "boogey man". Basically a scary monster. Some of the children refer to Ali as babalu because of his apperance and because of the way he walks.... He hobbles around because of polio that inflicted him and "left him with a twisted, atrophied right leg that was sallow skin over bone with little in between except a paper-thin layer of muscle"(Khaled Hosseini pg 8)
Farid is a man who drove Amir to Kabul and around Afganistan to search for Hassan's son. When they first meet Farid doesnt like Amir because he thinks Amir is only there to sell his father's property and leave for America
