Why is a rich mans money worth more than a pore mans money?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

From a purely economic perspective, money itself has the same face value regardless of who possesses it. For example, a $100 bill is worth $100 whether it's in the hands of a wealthy person or someone with fewer financial resources. In this sense, the value of money remains constant.

However, the perception that a rich person's money is worth more may come from a different perspective:

  1. **Purchasing Power:** A wealthy individual can afford to buy more with their money because they have a larger amount of it. They have greater purchasing power, which means they can acquire more goods and services, invest in opportunities, or make significant contributions to causes they care about.

  2. **Access to Opportunities:** Wealth often grants access to exclusive opportunities, such as investments, education, and experiences, which can lead to the accumulation of even more wealth. In this sense, money can be seen as having more potential when in the hands of someone with resources.

  3. **Influence:** Wealthy individuals can exert more influence on economic and political decisions, which can affect the value of their assets and money in the long term.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

All four principal members of Abba were accomplished musicians before they came together. Bjorn Ulveaus was the vocalist for Sweden's top folk band and Benny Andersson the keyboard player for Sweden's most popular rock band when they met in 1966 and started writing together. In 1969 Bjorn met future wife Agnetha Faltskog, one of the top female acts in the country. The same year, Benny met his future wife, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, a jazz band singer. They started performing together in 1970 and released their first single and album in 1972. (They were billed at first as Bjorn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid before shortening their names to ABBA in the summer of 1972.)

It depends on what country you are talking about. They had, I think, 13 number one hits in the UK, but only 1 in America. Australia was absolutely ABBA crazy, maybe even surpassing their native Sweden. So every country had a different reaction to the ABBA craze.

What was ABBAs only number one hit in the US?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

ABBA's last world-wide #1 was "One of Us" (1981), which hit #1 in at least four countries. It only reached #2 in the UK though there are some who believe it probably reached #1 the next week but there was no chart published (due to Christmas holidays). "One of Us" only reached #33 in the US.

The last British #1 was Super Trouper (1980). In the US, ABBA's last (and only) #1 on the Hot 100 was Dancing Queen (1976) but "The Winner Takes it All" peaked at #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart in 1980 and "Super Trouper" reached #1 on the Dance chart in 1981.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Nine ABBA singles peaked at number one in the UK:

Waterloo (1974)

Mamma Mia (1975)

Fernando (1975)

Dancing Queen (1976)

Knowing Me, Knowing You (1977)

The Name of the Game (1977)

Take a Chance on Me (1978)

The Winner Takes it All (1980)

Super Trouper (1980)

There are those who argue that there was a tenth. "One of Us" reached #2 in 1981 but there was no chart published the following week due to a Christmas break. It did hit #1 on some regional charts though.

What does ABBA stands for?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

In Hebrew, the word abba means father, used in direct address.

---

The acronym ABBA is a famous Swedish pop band from the 70s and 80s.

The band members are:

A - Anni-Frid Lyngstad (commonly known as "Frida")

B - Benny Andersson

B - Björn Ulvaeus

A - Agnetha Fältskog (commonly known as "Anna")

As it is the names of four people ABBA, all capitalized as ABBA and not Abba or abba. Also, if you were to see their logo, it would be "A(backwards B)BA", as if seen with a mirror down the middle.
