How big is a 10 gallon turtle tank?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The proper rule of thumb is 10 gallons for every inch of Aquatic turtle you have. So if your three turtles each measure 4 inches long, for example, you need to have AT LEAST a 120 gallon tank.

No Tank is Really Going to be Large EnoughFor a group of turtles, no aquarium is ever really going to be large enough. The post above provides an excellent guideline for how much swimming space to provide your turtles - but you must also allow for basking space as well. Your best bet is to look into a preformed pond (which are available at most home improvement stores). When set up properly they provide a more natural habitat (less stressful for your turtles), and are much easier to clean, light, and heat... they are also far less expensive - allowing you to spend your money on fixing them up - rather than providing the bear minimum. :)

That is not true you need maybe about a 30-40 gallon tank. :)

How do you change the rear main seal on a 2000chevrolet silverado?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I own a repair shop and it is very rare, 2 times in 20 years, that I have had to replace e rear main seal. It has been that our analysis to actually be the PCV, Positive Crankcase Ventilation, system to be inoperatable. The PCV system prevents crankcase pressure from building and forcing oil out at the weakest point.

Find a good repair shop and have them repair the PCV system. It consists of more than just a pcv valve. The system HAS to take in fresh outside air in order for it to work properly. You should feel a suction on the inlet side and that will let you know that the system is venting. One sure sign that it is not working is oil in or on the air filter. Clean both areas down real good with brake cleaner as it will not leave a residue.Get that working properly and wait a couple of weeks before even considering replacing the SEAL. Some places would rather replace the seal than repair the pcv system as it pays more money.

If that doesn't work then repost your question and I will be happy to further assist you.

How do you replace window motor for left rear window on a 1993 Saturn SL1?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Being a professional glass installer... You DON'T want to tackle this job. This job requires you to remove the outer door skin and the inner door panel. I would take it to your local glass shop.

For the DIYer there are some helpful videos on Youtube that explain how to take off the inner and outer door panels and glass from a Saturn SL1.

I'm a novice at body work but the videos worked for me as long as you have the right tools and torx bits. The panels can be removed in about a 1/2 hour.

The window motor itself maybe a different story, the motor is riveted onto the whole of the lift assembly which looks to make it quite difficult to replace by itself. Fortunately it isn't difficult to get the whole lift assembly off and out of the door and which you would need to do to replace just the motor. However, you may be easier to replace the whole window lift assembly at this point. That's where I am at in my thinking having a window motor myself that has stripped nylon gears inside of it.

Maybe someone else has an explanation of how to just replace the motor using the existing assembly.

How do you replace the rear brake rotors on a 1998 Corvette?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It's very easy and any DYI guy can do it. All you need to do is jack up the car, remove the rear wheel, remove the caliper and brake pads, and remove the brake pad bracket. The bracket is held onto the vehicle by two bolts with a torx (star) shaped head. Now you can pull off the rotor and begin your assembly with your new parts. * Word of caution, you may need to hit your old rotor with a hammer to free it as rust may be holding it tightly to your car. If this is the case just work your hammer around the rotor and take your time - it'll pop off. When placing your new rotor onto your car I'd recommend a dap of antiseize for ease of future brake jobs.

How do you replace rear brake line?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It is important to replace a brake line at the first sign of leaking. A brake line is a fairly simple repair, first you must remove the old line using two wrenches on the hex bolts. Then you screw the new brake line in place using the wrenches and replace fluid.
