There should be 5 basic fuse boxes in an XJ8 .One in the right rear in the trunk(by battery), one behind the right and left heel boards in the passenger rear floor area and two in the drivers side of the engine compartment.
The Fuse for Licence Plate Lights on a Jaguar XJ8 [1999] is Located in the Fuse Box in the boot/Trunk on the right hand side it is Fuse No.-19 and is a 5AMP one.
Do not touch the HID bulb with your bare fingers, may cause damage to the bulb.
1. Remove the top front cover by partially unscrewing and pulling up on 6 plastic fasteners.
2. Unclip the wire spring retaining the HID cover(s). You may remove the wire clip to provide a little more room to work.
3. Open the cover (confined area) and move it towards the fender. The cover is held in place by a wire clip spring on the bottom of the headlamp, moving it towards the fender and pulling up will remove the cover from the spring clip.
4. Remove the cover from the back of the headlamp unit.
5. You will now see a square silver object (the igniter) held in place by flat metal springs. The HID bulb is part of the igniter.
6. Carefully pull out the HID unit and disconnect the cable by pulling on it. May use a long needle-nose pliers.
7. Replace with new bulbs and reverse the above sequence.
NOTE: If this is your first time, it may take a little over an hour to complete the process, please have patience.
Found after removing and replacing the sensor and bottle still had error finally drained radiator and added correct coolant mixture in radiator, indicator went away. Appear I had a weak mixture of coolant and water in radiator, which kept giving me the "ENGINE COOLANT LOW' I guess it really was low in coolant.
because water pump isnot working properly.if it is with plastic propeler ,it is time to be replasment with new water pump.if not do dis as soon as possible ,next thing wich will become broken is termostat .
Also some times coolant sensor under the bottle where you fill coolant is not attached correctly or is not working.

to reset it its kinda tricky but u have to remove your rear license plate and the bottom passenger sire , "where the screw goes in" place a screw driver or anything long like that and slide it in up and to the left , once its in there u need to pull it back to the right , u will feel it hook on something , this will open ur trunk then the valet mode is reset
Size T40 Star wrench. They usually come is sets of star wrenches or small drivers that you can use a rachet and socket to turn. Most Lowe's, hardware stores and autoparts carry them.
It's located under the edge of the dash just left of the center console.
A Juguar XJ8 costs should range from store to store. Try the local car dealer shop first, to see if there is any Juguar XJ8. According to 'Auto Trader', the Jaguar XJ8 should cost at maximum 500.00 British pound. Therefore, if the car dealer's prize is over 500.00 British pound, try elsewhere.
The rear speakers suck, when you have to remove them. Got put the seat backs down, then pop off the cover over the entire rear space, its all one piece, the speaker covers are permanently mounted. Then you peal back the sound material. After that there are three screws that hold one of the speakers, remove them and your down. Also, make sure you disconnect the speaker wires in the truck first.
under the dash is a toggle switch that was installed with the alarm, *under the drivers side of the dash you need to put the key in turn it forward not on but forward and turn the toggle switch the other way, if no toggle do the same with the key and hold the alarm button down on the dash, sometimes the light that flashes is a switch....
Batteries should not be used in sealed containers. If the manufacturer put a vent hose on your battery get up, you should assume the air flow in the region is not sufficient to exhaust the explosive hydrogen and oxygen that are associated with charge and discharge.
To properly vent hydrogen isn't a big deal, you just need a way to move air.
Since you are not worried about the temperature of the battery, I would suggest a pair of tubes, and use the heat of the engine to push the air around (AKA up). One tube inside the engine bay, that connects to the bottom of the battery box. Another that connects to the top of the box, and goes directly outside. By exausting the fumes away from the hot engine, you also keep them from exploding on contact with such things as a manifold.
Here is an in depth discussion on Hydrogen Gas Venting from Battery Banks.

And here is a link to several battery boxes you could easily attach some tubing to.

I have 1998 xj8 Jaguar. This light came. After a lot of research my children call dealer and took my car to their shop and let them diagnose while my engin was running with this warning. When they hoocked my car to diagnostic box they found a code and my problem was Break switch. I got the switch replaced and car is working fine.
