Are people to pay the price of high gas prices because Israel wants war with oil rich Arab Muslim countries?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

WOW have you got it backwards.

Israel does not want war.

Some of the countries around Israel would rather see nuclear war than allow Israel to exist.

And yes we will have to pay for oil when war drives the price up.

A: That's the very point I've been trying to make since joining answers, there is no need to be paying the price for these wars by buying oil products. Yes the price of oil will go up. And yes there is Religious trouble in the middle East, and there will always be trouble, as long as the sons of Abraham are remembered. This is when the West should step back from it, and monitor nuclear activity in the sector. The program of non fossil fueled transport, should be of Western priority. Or Am I reading the wrong books.

Why did gas prices gone down in the past weeks?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Gasoline prices, at least in many parts of the world, have fallen recently because of the drop in demand. For example the economic slowdown in the US has led to less automobile travel, thus lowering the demand for gasoline. The refiners of gasoline lower their prices to try to encourage more consumption. Supply and demand, even though some fuzzy-headed economists deny it, is still a very powerful market force. In my opinion gas goes lower because of financial crisis in America and Europe as lot of factories reduced their production masively there became lot of free oil which nobody wanted to buy so OPEC lowered dayly limits of getting oil but as usuall it doesnt work Sry for bad english..:-)

Which president had the highest gas prices?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Any answer given is relative. As raw numbers go, gas hit it's height during the days and weeks after 9/11 when gougers were charging $7-$8 per gallon in some places, this under the office of George Bush. The height of market prices fall under the Obama administration. The highest by comparison to wages would go to Woodrow Wilson when gas was .20¢ a gallon, but the average American annual income was $1,500.00. At 15 mpg, the old Model T would have tipped a whopping $113.00 a year to run (10,000 mile yearly average), about 14% of the year's bankroll.

How much is a gallon of gas in 1968?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The average cost of gasoline per gallon in the United States in 1969 was approximately 35 cents. Of course since then there has been a dramatic rise in oil and gas consumption. Gasoline is derived from crude oil. Crude oil prices are driven by international supply and demand. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), owns more than 2/3 of the crude oil produced in the world. The United States is heavily dependant on oil products and is subject to OPEC's increased crude oil prices. I was pumping gas in the summer of 1969. I don't think our price ever went over 25.9. During a gas war it went to 16.9 or 17.9. If you don't remember gas wars, the "company stations" would sell at a loss trying to force the independents out of business.
