How do f-stops affect picture quality?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Through exposure. If your outside shooting on hot sunny day your picture might be over-exposed if you shoot an image with an f-stop/aperture of a about f/2-f/4. You can change your f-stop to about f/32 for less light to enter through the lens and to decrease light. Shutter speed also has a major part of exposure. A shutter speed of about 1/8 will let in a lot of light. A higher shutter speed of about 1/500 would let in a lot less light.

Answer:Aperture can affect the quality of a photographic image in at least four ways.

First, and most well known, as the aperture (the lens opening -- the hole through which the picture enters the camera) gets larger it lets in more light and you can take a picture in darker locations, or you can take pictures at higher shutter speeds thus freezing movement better.

The next most commonly known effect is that the wider the aperture the shallower the depth of field. That is, the fewer things in front of or behind the subject of the picture are in focus. As the aperture gets smaller things further away from the subject in both directions are clear.

Another way aperture can affect the image is that your lens will be sharpest at some aperture. Often somewhere around F5.6 to F8 your lens will make the sharpest (clearest) images. This is called "the sweet spot."

Finally, for technical reasons, at very small apertures (usually F16, f22 or smaller) an optical phenomenon caller diffraction causes the image to become become less sharp. You can think of it that when light must squeeze through a tiny hole the light rays interfere with each other.

Did eastman Kodak make rifles?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I won't say that they made scope sights for sure, however I have what appears to be a rifle scope marked EK Co dated 1943 also marked telescope M6 and a serial #. It looks similar to a Lyman Alaskan scope which was used by the military during WWII for sniper rifles. When you Google EK Co you get Eastman Kodak as a reply. The scope has a strange reticle that consists of a circle with a dot in the center with a long line each in the horizontal plane and a shorter line at top and bottom. It has no internal adjustments, the tube is .875 in diameter with 2 raised bosses that are 1.003 in diameter. I am not sure if it was a rifle scope or possibly for a transit?

Jim A.

EK Co means Eastman Kodak Company.

The answer is both yes and no. Kodak has never developed or designed weaponry to completion, however during World War Two many companies, including Kodak, converted their production lines into military production lines. The designs were not original (except for an exceptionally rare "baseball" grenade that was being developed for the OSS that blew up in testing and was covered up after the war), and included Springfield rifle and scope designs.

How do you uplode pictures to facebook off of a Kodak easy share?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

1) There should be a cord that came with your camera that connects the camera with your computer via the USB port. The little metal parts at the ends should be rectangular shaped, one bigger than the other.

2) Use this cord to connect your camera to the computer. It may take a minute or so for the computer to detect the camera.

3) On Facebook, when you get to the upload screen, click browse, and then click "computer". There should be a camera symbol that says the name of your camera or something close to that.

4) Double click that symbol. Choose the folder you want to upload from (if there are any). Double click and select which photos you want to upload. You can select multiple photos by holding down "Ctrl" (if you have a PC) or "Command" (if you have a Mac).

5) When done, click open. The photos should now upload to Facebook.

Go to the printer's company website (ex: if it's an HP printer go to hp.com, an epson then epson.com etc) and go to the product support section. Once there you will be able to search for the appropriate driver and download to your computer.
