It take only 2 minutes...really 2 minutes. First make sure you have the right belt: there are three different belts (depend of your alternator) and each of them has 5 inch length difference...the best is to bring your original belt to the store and compare (unless you know the alternator amp).

To remove the belt, you have to untied it by placing a 3/8 breaker bar in the square hole of the belt tensioner (left side of the motor when you face it) and turn clockwise (becarefull it's a spring-loaded tensioner).

Put the new belt: if don't remember the way it goes around the pulleys, follow the diagram on the top side of the fan guard.

The back seats are easy to remove, you have to lift up on the bottom cushion where there is two clips. On the back cushion there is bolts at the bottom and behind the headrests. Behind the headrests there two holes for removing the bolts, then lift straight up.

If your vehicle has an automatic belt tensioner with a serpentine belt, the belt is worn and needs to be replaced. On older models, the belt tension can be set by adjusting it at the alternator bracket. Loosen but do not remove the two bolts that hold the alternator in place (one at the bracket and one on the block) and pull the alternator to tighten the belt. Hold in position while re-tightening the bracket bolt then tighten the bolt on the block.

I know it sounds like a silly answer, but if you need to ask how.. your not ready to tackle the task.

To put it into basics

Drain radiator and remove

Remove electrical connections from motor

Remove hoses

Remove exhaust

Remove hood

Remove drive shafts

Support motor with hoist

Remove engine mount bolts

Lift motor and transmission out.

I don't think so. I use the FM antenna that comes with the Sirius radio to broadcast a signal to the FM radio. The problem here is that the built-in antenna on the Windstar is a piece of junk. It barely works as is. I have been told that there is a small amplifier in the right d-pillar that amplifys the antenna signal to the radio. If this is bad or if power has been lost, reception is reduced. I have not found evidence of this amplifier on the schematics. This does not however mean it isn't there. Good luck. The best advice is to visit Santa Fe forums asking for a write up (if one exist). Write up in car forums are you best choice if you are an amateur to auto maintenance as the pictures are in color and with the best and most detailed instructions in most cases.

2nd choice is to buy a maintenance manual from a local auto store. Cost is around $40-$60 by car but will save you HOURS not to mention broken parts if you missed a step. Having someone give you typed instructions is risky if you are not entirely familiar with a certain maker as each maker has their own hidden tricks for dis-assembly.

Generic instructions for most vehicles:

Remove the glovebox to physically view the blower fan. Peeling back front carpet may be requied.

Sell the car.
