I have had the same problem. What i did to fix it is to remove the two bolts from the center and ensure to remove all old gasket material. on the left side(passenger side) there is a half circle rubber that tends to dry up. i replaced the gasket and applied a GENEROUS coating of heat resistant silicone to all gasket surfaces including the rubber and ensure that the rubber bolt seals get a good coat as well. WAIT AT LEAST an HOUR before starting to allow the silicone to set up some.

use a small screwdriver to pry out the wire retaining clip located half way down on the plug.

If equiped with a blue plastic clip in the connector:

Pull or Pry the blue clip halfway out, using a small screwdriver or plyers. Push the tang on the side and completely remove the blue clip. Now with the blue clip removed squeeze the tang and pull the connector off.

The 1992 Plymouth Cold ignition switch is held in place by a retaining ring. Remove the retaining ring at the top of the ignition switch. Pull the ignition switch out. Remove the wiring harness from the ignition switch. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.
