Right under the chin of the car, find the black plastic door. There are two twist locks to open it. Once inside, use a nutdriver to pull out the single screw. The whole housing assembly will slide back and down. It may be a tight fit, but it does come apart if you tug on it. Once you have that out, you will see the clips hold the scraps of the old lens. Pry these off, and clip the new lens into place. Then just reverse steps to re-install.

Your dealer will not provide the info based on your vin over the phone as they want proof of ownership (makes sense). The experts told me that each cassette player has its own code, and it is written in the plastic card with the instruction mannual. But some technicians know how to disabbled it, and of course you , in that case, dont need the code anymore.

check your glovebox for the owners manual. In most cases in the pouch with it or somewhere in the book you will find a card with the radio code printed on it.

f you don't have the owners manual your best bet is to find the vin number (it will be at the bottom corner on the drivers side of the windscreen)

call a local dealership with the number on hand and they should be able to get it for you.

I had this on an XC70 recently. (The key would turn to get the dashboard lights on, but that was it).

The lock was broken and needed to be replaced.
