A small correction if I may - it is correct indeed to say that the calendar years runs from January 1st through December 31st. However "Financial Year" depends on (i) the applicable legal system; (ii) applicable tax system (in place in the relevant country) or sometimes (iii) as provided in the by-laws of the relevant company. In the US it is quite common the July 1st - June 30th period but not necessarily so.
