Well it depends on the age groups you are trying to target. Elementary kids are easy to reach with presentations, films, videos, coloring books and maybe a few first aid demonstrations by the Paramedics and First Responders. Kids love a big red truck or a white shiney ambulance.
Junior High and High school students need a more comprehensive plan, consider basic first aid training as a requirement for participation in trades classes. Like wood work, metal work, auto shop any trades classes that will involve Occupational Heath and Safety regulations should have basic first aid as a requirement for participation in the class. Safety in the work place needs to be just as important as building up the motor on the Mustang.
Even the sports teams should involve sports related first aid training as well as home economics, chemistry and the sciences. We pride our selves on our children's successes and how we are turning out brilliant minds, we should also be giving them the skills needed to help others in times of need. I hope this has helped, it's hard to get a plan going, but once you get it rolling, I think you will be surprised how successful it will be.
There are a lot of industrial safety suppliers who could provide you with materials to get you started, just give them a phone call and see where it goes from there. Who knows you may spark future doctors, nurses, paramedics and fire fighters.
