The UniBlue Driver Scanner is supposed to check for *updates* to drivers it finds on your PC at the time of the scan -- this is a bad idea for many reasons; three which come to mind are -

1) The drivers it downloads and installs may not be compatible with your current set-up;

2) Computers typically require human intervention so they (the computer) is able the make the appropriate choice of which driver to install.

3) Anything like this that is marked a free may potentially cause more harm than good.

While I am by no means endorsing UniBlue, purchasing the software does give you a support channel thru which you can air / discuss any grievances or questions you may have.

It's a scam. I've installed the product on my new Win 7 OS laptop and they said all my drivers are outdated. I updated my "outdated" drivers. After the update, my Win 7 dont even look like Win 7 anymore. I tried system restore to make everything back in order but does not work. So, in my conclusion, ITS A SCAM.

I would like to add that, like the writer above, I also have a Win 7 OS laptop.

Uniblue Driverscanner 15 reported that 8 drivers were out-of-date, 4 of them labelled as "ancient". BEFORE registering and paying for Driverscanner (thank god), I decided to take an hour and update each of the drivers myself, which isn't all that hard to do, just takes a little time. It turned out that ALL 8 drivers were the latest drivers!

And one other thing that made me suspicious is that the program tried to alarm me by reporting that one of the drivers is 8 years old (oh my god, I was quivering in my boots, heh, heh). What it doesn't tell you is how old the most recent updated driver is. The most recent one could also be eight years old, just a few days younger. Fact is, some drivers need no updating. The best way for the bit of hardware to be driven has already been found, ergo no need for updating. My conclusion is also, IT'S A SCAM!
