My husband is an artist with paintings in state art galleries. He would never put any artwork above any fireplace and certainly not in sunlight -- even light can fade art in the long run. Grease and steam from kitchens and bathrooms, and dampness from humid environments and evaporative air conditioning will cause damage too. He always carries a painting from the sides and not the top so the frame is not stressed. If wrapped in bubble wrap or plastic to store, there is a thin shiny brown tape readily available that will seep through and stain acrylic, and I guess, oil paint. Acrylic paint can stick if stored face to face. As you can see, it is a matter of evaluating your particular circumstance.
yeap, we are abstract art online gallery and we always tell our customers that never put the acrylic paintings near the fire or under strong light
