From the diary of Anne frank Why does Mr Frank say at the end of the play that anne puts him to shame?

[Edit]
Anne Frank wrote in her diary "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." Her father said she puts him to shame because the Nazis were such bad people yet she was still so forgiving and optimistic. He said that because she was killed by the Nazis and she believed there was some good in them.
