This appears to be static discharge from a leaky capacitor connected to the audio amp in the speaker. You have two solutions. 1. Send in the unit for repair. 2. Disconnect the speaker wire (Red and Black) that is attached to the speaker located on the inside. Lift the case as if you are replacing the cartridges. Remove the paper and the printing tray. If you look on the left hand side you will see grills for a small 1" speaker. They look like slits. Reach your hand on the inside and next to the speaker there will be a red and black wire attached to it. Disconnect the wires, Disconnecting the wires will disable the audio system, but you'll get peace and quiet.
