Had broken timing belt on 95 ford ranger std shift Alighned cam crank oil pump timing marks replaced belt engine runs rough and has low power Rechecked timing marks All seems aok Help?

probably damaged a valve when the belt broke. The clearances are so close that a piston can easily strike a valve if everything is not perfect. So when the belt broke the cams stopped moving and all valve stayed in the position they were in. Meanwhile a piston may have still been traveling or someone cranked the engine to try to start it and BAM.
