probably damaged a valve when the belt broke. The clearances are so close that a piston can easily strike a valve if everything is not perfect. So when the belt broke the cams stopped moving and all valve stayed in the position they were in. Meanwhile a piston may have still been traveling or someone cranked the engine to try to start it and BAM.

The belt must be replaced every 60,000 miles. a quick way to verify if the belt is broken is to remove the distributor cap and turn the engine by hand. If the rotor does not turn the belt is broken. You can also remove the oil fill cap and look at the valve train. If you see no movement when the engine is turned by hand the belt is broken. Of course if the engine is locked up the belt is broken as the valves are hitting the pistons. quick way to confirm a
Broken starter drive? Broken tooth on converter/flywheel?
Could be very severe engine damage if the motor is an interference engine if not could just need the belt replaced
While it is possible for an engine to fall out if the motor mounts are bad, it is very unlikely. However, a broken mount will likely destroy the engine if it is not replaced.
roll engine over until the ( T ) mark is alighned in timing hole with piston to the top . adjust intake and exhaust to 0.15 mm or 0.006 in .
