Research have shown that 30% of men are not the father to who they think is their child so this is a good way to make sure the biological parent support his child and not someone else. Signing the birth certificate does not require one so it's a good thing child support does. By providing a DNA test you also get the right to petition for visitation so it can get real messy for the child if the wrong man is in the place as dad and the the biological one comes after a few years demanding his rights. Better get it right from the start.
