But the great palace complex at Knossos has been found and excavated. It is known to some as The Labyrinth, and if that is the Labyrinth you are talking about, it has indeed been found.
In its day there would have been nothing like this vast palace complex in Greece. To visiting Greeks it would have seemed to be an endless maze. It may be that the legend of the Labyrinth, as prison for a monster, is a distorted traveler's tale about this vast palace that seemed to go on forever, and was so easy to lose your way in.
