According to the International Shark Attack File , housed at the University of Florida: The Hammerhead shark has been attributed with a total of 33 recorded attacks since 1580 with no deaths. A Hammerhead Shark grows to around 20 ft. full grown and is the most manueverable of all sharks; attacks have been blamed on adolescent Hammerheads seeking a mate and accidently trying to "nail" a human. The Great Hammerhead is the most dangerous to man.

yes but all attacks are completly defencive in nature like a dog backed into a corner hammerheads are alittle cuirious although they are bottom feeders and pose no danger to humans at all ,in people find it very hard to take in that sharks including great whites are actully dangerous to human beings they are not its simply miss identification,i have swam with two very large hammerheads all they did was swim under me and left there perfectly harmless unlss they feel threatned into an attack there mouth isnt even in the right place to bite with effort, its simply movie hype that make sharks out to be dangerios, its been proven humans can swim with all types of shark saftly, hammerheads are not to be feared anyone scared of one is simply wasting energy when in the water with them

How many deaths have been caused by great white sharks?

As of 19 February 2015, there have been 2,899 shark attacks worldwide with 548 fatalities since recordings were kept in 1580. If we specifically narrow it Great White Sharks, the numbers drop to 314 attacks of which 80 are fatal in the same time period. Of course, for most of that time, the type of shark attacking was not identified, so it is quite possible that a significant portion of the 400+ fatalities recorded as a shark attack were Great White Shark attacks as well.
