No. The most recent mass murders of Mormons (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) were in the Midwest in the late 1830's.

And no, there shouldn't be a mass murder of Mormons, or anyone for that matter!

When was Morman Murders?

I am not aware of any specific event called the Mormon Murders, but there have been cases of mass murder related to Mormonism. Mass murders of Mormons took place in Missouri in the fall of 1838. The Missourians were attempting to get the Mormons to leave their state, and hoped to do so by raiding their towns, burning their homes, and beating or killing their people. The most notable event of what is called the Missouri Mormon War was the Haun's Mill Massacre, in which 17 Mormons were killed and 13 more were injured in a single afternoon. An attempted mass murder of Mormon leaders took place in Illinois in June 1844. The prophet Joseph Smith was in Carthage awaiting a trial; his brother and friends who were also top Mormon leaders were staying in the jail with him. A mob broke into the jail and shot and killed Joseph and his brother, and wounded two others who later recovered. Another mass murder took place in Utah in September 1857. The US military had been sent to keep an eye on the Mormons in Utah, and a band of men in the southern part of the state were on guard to defend themselves. A wagon train from Arkansas came through, and most of the members of this train were murdered by the Mormons and some Native Americans who were helping them. All the adults from the Arkansas train were killed, and the Mormons involved never said much about the event, so the motivation is unknown. It is assumed that the Mormons opened fire thinking that there were spies in the wagon train, or that they didn't realize that the train was not affiliated with the government until it was too late.
