Your local auto parts store would be able to get you an alternator belt diagram for a Peugeot 306 Rally 2-liter, 16-valve model without air conditioning. You can also find it at the library.
1. Suspect the belt is loose. Tighten it or use belt dressing. 2. Bearings are worn out on the alternator. Replace the alternator. 3. Poor workmanship on a rebuilt alternator. Replace the alternator.
loosen the alternator bolts up and push down on the alternator and take the old belt off and reinstall new belt over the pulleys and pry up on the alternator until you get about a 1/2" play in the belt when you push down on the belt and then tighten all the alternator bolts.
To change the alternator belt an a 1985 Chevy Celebrity: 1. Loosen the adjuster bolt and the mounting bolt. 2. Move the alternator to release the belt tension and remove the belt. Reverse to reinstall a new belt.
theres 2 bolts on the alternator 1 of them is to loosen the belt of and the other is to remove the alternator all together i hope that's a helpful answer to your question
Does your car have one belt? Or does it have 2 belts? if it has one belt..............it's called a serpentine belt and you need to find the idler pulley and insert a 3/8 inch ratchet in the hole and take the tension off the belt, slide the belt off the pulley and then replace the alternator. With serpentine belts, you do not adjust the slack on the belt using the alternator, the idler pulley adjust the slack on the belt and keeps tension on it. If you have 2 belts then you may have an adjustable alternator but most cars this new have one belt. If you have 2, check back with your question updated.
Mine's the TD not the HDI but the capacity is 70 litres, I think it's the same for all the engines.70 litres for my 406 HDi Rapier (2 litre/90bhp)
I recently replaced the alternator on my 96' Lumina. 1. Remove the serpentine belt off the engine by locating the belt tensioner and removing the tension req'd to remove the belt. (there is usually a diagram in the engine compt. showing the tensioner location and belt path) 2. Remove required bolts (2) I believe... & elec. harness plug from alternator. 3. Replace alternator & reverse process.
There is a pully that will ratchet up and down to loosen or tighten the belt. Take the belt off, unplug the wire from the alternator, and there should only be 2 or 3 bolts holding the alternator on.
unloosen the 3 bolts on the alternator and push down on it and the belt will come loose, take the belt off and put new belt over the pulleys and to tighten pull up on the alternator and tighten the bottom bolt first and then check the belt for tightness, when you press on the belt there should be about 1/2 inch play, when you get it set then tighten all the bolts on the alternator and your done.
Loosen all the bolts on the alternator and push down on the alternator and the belt will be loose and you can take it off, to reinstall you put new belt around the water pump and crank pulleys and then put it over the alternator pulley and pull up on the alternator and tighten the bolts back up and you should have a 1/2 " play in the belt when you push down on it, if you have more than that you need to unloosen alternator bolts again and pry the alternator up with a large screwdriver and re-tighten the bolts again and recheck.
Remove serpentine belt, remove three bolts ,an 2 wires. The alternator will pull up off the motor to remove. Put new alternator in replace bolts, replace wires, an replace the serpentine belt..
