∙ 14y agoThe answer begins with a question. Why on earth was the wallpaper installed over wet paint? Wallpaper removal, under normal circumstances, unless it is the removable type, can be difficult. First, try to determine the type of wallpaper. If it is dry-stripable, you may be able to peel it off. Try lifting one corner. If it's nonporous, you will have to roughen the surface first. You can do this using sandpaper or a commercial roughening tool. Then apply warm water and a wallpaper removal solvent. Do not wet too large an area at a time as you do not want to risk water damage to the wall if it is drywall. Since the wallpaper was not properly applied, removing it without damage to the wall may be very difficult. You may have to rent or purchase a wallpaper steamer. Be sure to read the instructions for use to avoid being burned in the process. Good luck!
