cells were first discovered by Robert hooke in 1665.he saw cells in a cork of a tree.he examin the cork of the tree in a self desin microscope.and found a honey comb like structure and coined them "CELLS".then Anton von leeuvenhuek discovered the living bacteria and fungai from tarter of teeth...then Robert brown in 1831 discovered the nucleus from the root of a tree...then the discoveries goes on....to know more about the observations and experiments of Robert hooke he have written a book named micrografia...that's all i know! about cells....

In 1665, Robert Hooke first "saw" cells by looking at a cork using a primitive magnifying glass. Soon after, Janssen produced the first "working" compound microscope and, with Janssen's scope, van Leeuwenhoek actually saw the cell . . .
