Some fruits grow on trees, some grow on bushes. A bush being similar to a tree but never getting very tall, and lacking the strength to support itself above about 5 or 6 feet.
Strawberries grow from plants which spread across the ground, as their stems lack the strength to support themselves. The word strawberry derives from the fact that they 'stray' across the ground, rather than growing upright.
Strawberries are usually grown from cuttings. These can be planted in pots or barrels in soil with plenty of fertiliser or in potting compost. They need plenty of watering and should be protected from slugs and snails.
