How and where is an element found?

Answer:
Elements are very rarely found in nature. Atoms have a need to satisfy valence electrons (fill or get rid of electrons in the outer shell) and therefore bond with atoms that want to do the opposite (fill3 goes with give away3, gross simplification, check out diatomics also). Water for instance contains 2 Hydrogens with a one + charge each. Oxygen has one 2- charge. Two hydrogens bond to the water to give it a neutral charge
