You cannot convert any 6-cyl engine to a V8, you can only swap them
1956 saw Ford offer it's pickups with a 6 cyl, the 272 cu in V8, the 292 cu in V8, and if you wanted to bribe the dealer a few hundred, you could get the 312 cu in V8 with the Thunderbird valve covers, the four bbl carb and chrome air cleaner. Not an uncommon sight in SoCal. back in the day.

No. Chevy never made a v8 of that dimension. It's a 6 cyl.
1 per cyl. V8 has 8
( .044 inch ) for the 4.9 L ( 300 ) straight 6 cyl and 5.8 L ( 351 ) - V8 ( .054 inch ) for the 5.0 L ( 302 cubic inch ) - V8
the 250 cu in 6 cyl. and then the 307 V8 and the biggy option was a 350 V8.
6 cyl.-6 plugs 8 cyl. 8 plugs the v8 actually has 2 plugs per cylinder, so 16 plugs for the v8
Pull the v8 out and get some 6 cyl. motor mounts and drop the 6 in.
