Just like any other bacteria. It depends on its growth requirements. They don't usually require anything extra unless engineered to need a particular nutrient. Agar would be the most common media used to grow bacteria and probably genetically engineered bacteria too.

Why are a lot of people against genetically modified crops being grown?

A lot of people are against genetically modified crops being grown because of potential negative health effects. The effects of altering crops genetically are also not known due to the process being relatively new.

What are the transgenic bacteria?

Trangenic bacteria are bacterial colonies which are genetically modified by deleting or adding a particular gene sequence.

Do genetically grown crops take longer to grow than naturally grown?

I assume you mean genetically modified, since anything that grows does so based on its genetic material. No, genetically modified crops do not take any longer to grow than their naturally-selected counterparts. When growing corn, for example, the farmer can choose from a fairly wide selection of maturity lengths, both in normal and in genetically modified.

How are genetically modified organics good?

There is actually no such thing as genetically modified organics. Organic foods cannot be grown from GMO seeds and the only way it would (and does) contain GMOs is if it is contaminated with them during growth or processing.

Why are bacteria that are grown in a petri dish clones?

because it is genetically identical to the organism it was taken from

Where are genetically modified organisms currently in use?

They are grown all across the USA and Canada and in many other parts of the world. At least 70% of processed foods in the grocery stores in the U.S. have GMO ingredients. Much of the meat in the U.S. has been grown using hormones that are genetically modified. Dairy cows are often given genetically modified hormones in the U.S. Some pharmaceutical drugs are made using genetic modification.

Does genetically modified food grow more bacteria than organic food?
