How are guitar strings made from petroleum?

Folk singers use nylon strings for a mellow sound while country and western singers use metal strings for a louder, sharper sound.

nylon or steel for the inside part than they wrap ,steel nickle or bronze around it.

Sometimes steel, sometimes bronze..depends on the manufacturer!
