Answer:

The lasers use heat to target melanin (pigmentation) in the hair follicle. The heat travels down the hair shaft and destroys the root, preventing any growth of future hairs. The treatment consists of multiple quick flashes of the laser over the entire area. The skin feels as though it is being snapped by an elastic.
