Enlargement refers to the state of the object being viewed. Magnification is the view of the object becoming larger. Enlarging a picture makes it bigger. Magnifying it makes it look bigger, but doesn't change the picture.

Magnification is the size of the image of an object as compared to the true size of the object.

Resolving power is the ability of an imaging device to separate (i.e., to see as distinct) points of an object that are located at a small angular distance.

In a microscope, magnification means the number of times the original image is magnified. Resolving power, meanwhile. is the minimum angular separation between two objects to see them as separate objects.

Does resolving power increase with magnification?

If magnification increases ONLY, then resolving power does not increase. However, if the magnification increased while staying in focus (upgrading resolution and magnification with objective lense), shorter wavelengths are needed to stay in focus with increased magnification to yield the same high resolution as with previous objective lense, so this case, resolving power does increase.

What is the difference between the resolving power and the magnifying power?

The magnification of a light microscope is limited to 1000X by the resolving power of the instrument.?

True!

Is it better to have a telescope with a high resolving power or a high magnification explain why?

What does resolving power of a microscope mean?

its ability to distinguish two items at its highest magnification

Does the diameter of a telescope control its magnification?

No, you can change the magnification of the telescope by simply changing the eyepiece. The two most important powers of the telescope, light-gathering power and resolving power, depend on the diameter of the telescope, but it does not control the magnification.

Difference between resolving power and magnifying power of a lens?

I am a Rwandan 'A' Level PCM Student The magnifying power of a lens is the ratio of the angle subtended by the image by using instruments to the angle subtended by the object at unaided eye while the resolving power is how a lens can make a clear vision of image separately I am called Fuddle B.

Explain the relationship between the resolving power of the microscope and the wavelength of the light being used?

Resolving power of microscope is inversely related to the wavelength of the light used. So shorter the wavelength, greater the resolving power.

What is the resolving power of a 25Cm telescope?

Resolving power is measured in arc seconds. The formula to find this is as follows: arc seconds (x) = 11.6/(D) 11.6 is part of the formula D- is the diameter of the telescope (which you have = 25cm) Therefore the resolving power should be: 11.6/25 = .46 arc seconds

What is the relationship between the working distance of an objective lens and its magnification power?

the working distance decreases as the magnification increases
