Metamorphic rocks are formed from a protolith, or parent rock, which can be of any rock type (igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic). The parent rock is exposed to varying degrees of pressure and/or heat either from depth of burial, exposure to a plutonic body of intense heat, or from pressures resulting from the collision of tectonic plates. Exchanges of elements can also occur from hot fluids associated with plutonic intrusions. The heat and/or pressure can transform the minerals inside the parent rock to new minerals, cause recrystallization of existing minerals, or reorganize the existing minerals into bands and layers. All of these processes take place without any melting of the parent rock.

Weathered products of existing rocks are transported , deposited , compacted , and cemented.
they are formed by pre-existing rocks in a solid heat pressure or chemical activity
metamorphic is new rock that forms when existing rock is heated or squeezed.
Metamorphic rocks form when igneous or sedimentary (or even a metamorphic rock) are put under immense heat and pressure.
Quartzite is a metamorphic rock formed from sandstone.
Marble is the metamorphic rock formed from limestone. =)
Rock can be changed into metamorphic rock by heat and pressure.
Slate. Slate is a low grade metamorphic rock derived from shale or mudstone.
Hornfels or gneiss are possible metamorphic rock with a greywacke protolith.

Metamorphic Rock
Probably the metamorphic rock phyllite.
metamorphic.
Marble is the metamorphic rock formed from limestone. =)
both are correct metamorphic rock can form from both.
Rock can be changed into metamorphic rock by heat and pressure.
Slate is formed out of a sedimentary rock called Shale. It is a foliated metamorphic rock.
Metamorphic rocks are formed from sedimentary rocks.

Slate is a metamorphic rock formed from the parent rock shale.
