If raised in a loving home with children, any dog from any breed can make an excellent pet. It all depends on how they are raised, therefore I cannot tell you how an individual dog will act as they are all different.

∙ 14y agomixing pitbulls with other breeds is never recommended. Pitbulls have a very stable temper and mixing with other breeds may jeopardize this. Besides you will not make a bettter breed of dog.
